July 27, 2009 - Four Killed in Collision in Georgia

Police say alcohol was a factor in a crash outside of Savannah, Ga., that killed four people and injured three children.

The head-on collision on Interstate 95 Saturday involved a 2001 Mazda MPV minivan and a Chevrolet S-10 pickup, state trooper Chris Cuddington told the Savannah (Ga.) Morning News.

The driver of the pickup, Michael Delph, 28, of Phenix City, Ala., died in the crash along with the driver of the minivan, Michelle Carryl, 41, of Apopka, Fla., Cuddington said.

Delph's truck -- which reportedly contained open containers of alcohol -- was headed north in a southbound lane, police said.

Two passengers in the minivan died: Dwight Spencer, 19, of Apopka; and Cyril Millington, 59, of New York, police said. Carryl's children, a 15-year-old boy and two girls ages 9 and 13, were hospitalized and expected to recover.
